er Sunday, April 9, has been set as the date for the Open house and dedication of the Choctaw County Memorial Hospital and the hospital will be officially opened on Monday, April 10, according to Ralph Jenner, chairman of the board of control. Robert Firebaugh, chairman of the Finance Committee, has pledged that his committee will have raised the $15,000 necessary for the opening of the hospital by April 8 and he urges local citizens to rally to the cause and assure the committee of the $15,000 he has pledged to raise.
The latest pledge for a patient room has been made by the Negro population of Choctaw County. Although the $15,000 needed for the Formal Opening has not been raised by the memorializing of patient rooms, enough smaller donations are being assured to make Mr. Firebaugh feel that the $15,000 will be raised by April 8.
At the meeting of the hospital board of control last night, it was decided that the Easter Sunday dedication service would be held at 2:30 p.m., and that open house at the hospital would be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the designated date in order that all citizens of Choctaw County may have an opportunity to inspect the hospital.
